This 7 Days Rwanda safari is crafted to meet needs of visitors who are passionate about relating with the endangered primates of Rwanda. On this safari, you will also have a remarkable gorilla trekking experience, golden monkey tracking, visit and track the Nyungwe chimps as well as a visit to the Kigali Memorial Genocide for a historical experience of the 1994 Rwanda genocide.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Kigali, you will be warmly received by our tour guide who will drive you to your Hotel where you will dine and have overnight stay.
Just in case you arriver very early, you may choose to first engage in a Kigali City Tour experience taking you through the local markets in Kigali and visiting various community projects such as the Caplaki crafts center. Here you will a chance of buying some souvenirs for your memorable experience in the land of “a Thousand Hills”.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and embark on a 2 and half hours leisurely drive to Volcanoes national park as you enjoy the diverse views of the countryside. Arrive Musanze in the afternoon with lunch en-route and spend the evening at leisure relaxing at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s trek.
Later; Dine and rest for overnight at The Garden Place (Budget), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge/ Davinci Gorilla Lodge (Midrange) and Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/ Five Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge (Luxury)
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda and Iby’wacu Cultural Center
Today you will visit to see the gorillas in the Volcanoes National park. Gorilla trekking is usually the highlight of a typical Rwanda safari experience.
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the ORTPN officials, set off for the gorilla trekking. This experience of gorilla trekking is a once in a lifetime adventure. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search of the Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures whose company you will cherish for 1 hour. The activity in Rwanda can take 3-5 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. In the afternoon you may go for an optional village tour for a cultural experience with a resident local guide.
Dinner and Overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge
Day 4: Golden Monkeys Tracking
Wake up to an early breakfast and off to the park headquarters for the briefing as on day 2 above. Go for Golden monkey tracking; the activity lasts 3 to 4 hours. Return to the lodge where you will freshen up and either relax at the lodge or embark on a guided village tour where you will learn more about the traditional culture of the Rwandese people.
Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Kivu
After breakfast and drive to Lake Kivu for a boat ride around the Virgin Islands like the Napoleon’s Hat Island and there you can ascend to the peak of the hat to view the thousands of Angola bats in the blue skies. Following lunch continue to Butare the intellectual centre of Rwanda to visit the national university plus the Institute of Scientific Research as well as the national museum.
Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Faucon.
Day 6: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Nyungwe Forest is among the greatly safeguarded montane rainforests in the whole of Africa. It extends over an expanse of 970 sq km and offers breathtaking scenery looking over the forest plus Lake Kivu, in addition to sights to the north of the far away volcanoes of Parc National des Virunga. The primary attraction here are the guided tours when tracking the large troops of black & white Angolan Colobus monkeys ( which may have as many as 400 members in every troop) or even chimpanzees. Roughly there are 270 species of trees, more than 70 species of mammals, 275 species of birds plus a profusion of orchids as well as butterflies.
Day 7: Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trekking - Departure to Kigali
Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing before entering the forest, searching for the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are the easy to spot, as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimp tracking usually takes about 3 hours. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.
After lunch, embark on a 4 hours journey driving back to Kigali where you will reach in the evening and dropped off at your hotel of stay or residence. Thats the end of your 7 Days Rwanda safari
